The Asian Health Outreach Foundation is a 501(c)3 Michigan Not-for-profit corporation. It was established in 2003 to address the lack of health care access of Asian Americans in West Michigan.
Mission Statement:
To improve health care parity in Asian communities through

- education, and
- research.

Executive Director
Minnie is AHOF’s first Executive Director. She recently retired from the Social Security Administration as a Social Insurance Representative after working there for 33 years. She specialized in Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and Medicare laws. Her main responsibilites at that time were interviewing claimants and determining eligibility for benefits, evaluating work completed by co workers, training new employees as well as training on new procedures for current employees, conducting presentations to organizations in the community, and serving as liaison contact with other social service agencies in the local, county and federal sectors.
She is an active member of society having several volunteer functions, including:
- People of Color Collaboration, City of Grand Rapids since 2005,
- United Way Investment Council since March 2006
She is also a board member of several local not-for-profit organizations:
- Grand Rapids Area Center for Ecumenism (GRACE) since 2004
- Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW) since January 2006
- Asian Professionals Organization since 2009
- Serves as Liaison for the Multicultural Language School since 2007
Minnie currently teaches and directs the Pacific Island Dancers group who presents cultural dances from the islands of Hawaii, Tahiti, Philippines and New Zealand. The group presents cultural programs for various educational institutions, community organizations and corporate events. She also serves as Dance Director for the Philippine Cultural Group of Michigan.
She was born in the Philippines and raised in California. She has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
